License Terms
Last updated September 4, 2026
Every asset on UIpick is sold under a license. The license says what you can build with the asset, and what you can't do with the file itself. The product page for each asset tells you which license applies.
These terms sit alongside our Terms of Service, which govern your account, purchases and memberships.
1.The Two Licenses
Buying an asset — or downloading it on a membership — gives you a license to use it. It never transfers ownership: the author keeps the copyright.
| License | What it's for | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Personal & Commercial | Personal and client work, including work you're paid for. | Included with every asset, and with every membership download. |
| Extended | Work where the asset itself reaches your customers — a product you sell that's built on it. | Priced separately, and only on listings that offer it. |
2.Personal & Commercial License
The default on every asset, whether you buy it or download it on a plan.
You can
- Use the asset in personal or client projects, including ones you charge for
- Modify it, and combine it with other work, to fit the project
- Use it in an unlimited number of your own end products
- Keep using it after your membership ends, in end products you already built
You can't
- Resell or redistribute the asset file itself, modified or not
- Bundle it into another asset — a UI kit, template or component pack — and sell that
- Claim you created the original asset
- Share the file with colleagues, clients or anyone else who hasn't licensed it
3.Extended License
Shown on the product page where the author offers it, and priced separately. It covers the cases the Personal & Commercial license doesn't: products where the asset is part of what your customer receives.
- Everything in the Personal & Commercial license
- Use the asset in a product you sell to others — a marketplace template, a SaaS boilerplate, a theme
- Distribute it as part of a larger product, under the terms stated on that listing
It still doesn't allow selling the asset on its own, or as an interchangeable part of an asset library that competes with UIpick.
4.What Counts as an End Product
An end product is finished work that adds meaningful value of your own on top of the asset — not a repackaged version of the asset itself. This is the line both licenses turn on.
These are end products
- Websites, apps and software where the asset is built into the design
- Marketing work: presentations, social posts, video, ads
- Printed and physical goods — posters, packaging, merchandise
- Client projects where the asset is part of a larger design you deliver
These are not
- A UI kit, theme or template whose buyers can pull the original asset back out
- A component pack or asset library that competes with UIpick
- The asset on its own, modified or not, offered for download or sale
For example: using icons from a UIpick asset inside an app you design is fine. Collecting those same icons into an icon pack and selling it is redistribution, and isn't — with either license.
5.Downloads on a Membership
- A membership download carries the Personal & Commercial license, exactly as a purchase does.
- Assets you downloaded while your membership was active stay licensed to you after it ends. You just can't download more.
- A membership is for one person. Downloads made with it can't be passed to colleagues or clients.
- If a project needs the Extended license, buy that on the listing — a membership doesn't include it.
6.Fonts & Third-Party Content
Assets sometimes reference fonts, photographs or icons licensed from someone else. Those pieces come under their own licenses, not ours, and the listing says so where it applies. In particular: you can't pass on a premium or third-party font inside something you distribute — whoever receives it needs their own font license.
7.Ownership & Attribution
The author keeps copyright in their work. Your license is permanent for the end products you build with it — it doesn't lapse if the asset is later removed from sale. No attribution is required in your end products, though authors always appreciate it.
8.Refunds & Broken Files
Digital goods are non-refundable once downloaded. If a file is broken, incomplete, or doesn't match its listing, contact us — we'll fix it, replace it or refund it. Membership refunds are covered in the Terms of Service.
9.Per-Listing Exceptions
A product page can state terms of its own — a wider or narrower grant than the standard license. Where it does, those terms win for that asset. Everything not addressed there falls back to this page.
10.Enforcement
Redistributing assets, reselling them, or sharing account downloads breaches these terms. It can end in a suspended or closed account, without refund, and the licenses granted through that account ending with it. Authors confirm they hold the rights to what they sell; anything found to infringe someone else's rights is removed.
11.Questions
Not sure whether your project is covered? Ask before you build: [email protected], or the contact page. Common cases are answered in the FAQ.
